Dubstep with video-game beep lead.

I don't know much about Dubstep, but it seems that you've nailed some of those gritty bass sounds and have the beatstyle down. I'd suggest changing out the higher beep sound you used for something a little less piercing, though-- it gets a little painful after just a couple seconds. You also might want to experiment with adding a little more complexity to your percussion.

Thanks for the info. This is only an attempt at dubstep because like you I don't listen to dubstep, I'm more of a house person. I made this after I heard one song from the genre and I was upset over something. I'll try to lower the high frequencies and this version is a little faster from the original, 20 bpm higher, and had to put in a rushed ending.

Pretty neat.

--The intro sounds are pretty neat, but they go on for too long by themselves. Try to mix it up with some subtle changes.
--The building menace of the later intro is pretty sweet, but the fakeness of the lead sound threw me off. Try to make something a little more realistic in later versions, m'kay? I like the concept, but the sound's missing the target. If you're using a real guitar and did something to make it sound like that, it would be a good idea to change it in later drafts.
--When everything comes together, it sounds fantastic! Try a little mix-fixing, though, as the high registers are a little to loud.
--When you switch from the main melody to that noise part, the drums are a little too loud--once again, some mixing would be a good idea.
--Those drums go on for too long, too.
--I like the big finish that comes back to the beginning, although it gets a little messy at points.

Nice work!

GamingLegend7 responds:

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be sure to work on it.
Thanks again.

Nice loop...

This has a really great ambient feel to it, and I could really imagine it being the background of something during an emotional point.

One note: you might want to make the harp-type sound fade out at the end. It sounded kind of funny as is.

thatguy669606 responds:

thanks that would probably sound cool

Good one...

Love the rhythm, but it seemed to get a little off with the arpish sound that came in at about 0:50...

The part that comes in at about 2:16 is AMAZING!

PowerUpload responds:

Yeah i had some problems with that, anyways thanks for telling me :-)

I'm gonna review this song!

The beginning seemed a little too long-- the intro percussion, although complex, seemed to be a little lacking in the bass department.

The instruments that kicked later on, although they added some interest, did not contain any kind of hook to get me really interested in this song.

Keep going, though! It's obvious that you have an understanding of how beats and lead instruments work, so things can only keep getting better with practice.

Doomsday192 responds:

Yeah, this is not one of my best tracks...
i'll be uploading some more soon though

Some nice stuff...

I like the bass and scratch, and this definitely has some nice stuff going. However, it seems to take a little too long to develop at the beginning.

ThrasherMan responds:

Yea, I agree with you on that. I'll do better next time ^_^.

Some nice stuff...

I like a lot of the ideas you have in this song. The piano that came in at about 0:39 didn't really seem to add anything to the song, though. Maybe if you actually had it play a melody line instead of just chords, the song might gain another level of interest.

The ending felt a little off to me, too.

Krizy responds:

k thx bai ^^

Some good stuff...

I liked what I heard, but the parts I liked seemed to be playing over and over again, with no variety bits in between. I kept waiting for a higher synth sound to kick in and give this song some serious hooks. As I said before, though, I liked what I heard, so keep up the good work!

4/5, 7/10

Shinrog responds:

that was a lil bit before I started variating my songs so I understand that =)
